Seixal Ladies Open

As a corollary of our strategy and realizing our vision, we will hold the 1st edition of the “Seixal Ladies Open”. Inserted in the context of futures, this tournament, in addition to affirming our credibility, decisively marks our sports

agenda and our international visibility. The expectation is great, but also our conviction that we will do everything to live up to the importance of this event.

It was a laborious process, but at the same time rewarding for the contributions of partnerships and sponsorships, which we shared with our enthusiasts and allowed us to fulfill this yearning. A particular highlight for the Municipality of Seixal and for the Portuguese Tennis Federation, which, in addition to their objective and decisive support, from the first moment they cherished and encouraged us in pursuit of this objective.

To all, my recognition and deep gratitude for making it possible this realization.
To the participants and their companions, to the technical and staff teams, to the visitors in general, be all welcome to this event, to our club and to the county of Seixal. We will not spare to efforts, so that your stay among us may be excellent, leaving now my sincere desire to receive you again next year.

A reference for national and international tennis

The Municipality of Seixal welcomes the first edition of the Seixal Ladies Open, hoping that this will be the first of many editions. It will undoubtedly be a success, considering the prestige of the athletes in competition, as well as the expectation created by this tournament amid the enthusiasts of the sport.

The realization of the Seixal Ladies Open reinforces the role of the “Clube Recreativo e Desportivo Brasileiro-Rouxinol” within the national and international tennispanorama.

With a tennis school that includes more than 100 athletes and the participation in the various echelons of collective or individual sports events at local, regional and national level, the club is also recognized for organizing various tournaments integrated in the national calendar of the PortugueseFederationofTennis.

The organization of this women’s international tournament will bring tennis players from all over the world to Seixal, who will be joining the great names of the national tennis present at this grand sporting event.

The Seixal City Council has been a partner of the popular associative movement, investing in projects and equipment for the population, as happened with this collectivity with the installation of new floors on the tennis courts and the enlargement of the facilities, and supporting initiatives for everyone, in terms of training, regular practice and competition.

The Seixal Ladies Open is the result of the energy and determination of the “Clube Recreativo e Desportivo Brasileiro-Rouxinol” and the result of the work they perform every day, always with the support of the local autarchy, which recognises its commitment and important role in the sports development within the municipality, but also as a reference in the national and international tennis.

Expansion Policy

It is with a mix of satisfaction and confidence that the Portuguese Federation of Tennis associates with the realization of the Seixal Ladies Open, a commendable initiative of the ‘Clube Recreativo e Desportivo Brasileiro Rouxinol’.

This sports association, founded in 1980, has been one of the greatest dynamization centres of tennis and other sports in the south bank of the Tagus river over the last years, promoting both coaching and the organization of prize-money tournaments, that achieved to reunite the national elites.

At a time when the Portuguese Federation of Tennis is strongly committed in turning a page in the female tennis, supporting with great enthusiasm the international tournaments from north to south of the country, the arrival of the Seixal Ladies Open brings us a message of hope meeting a tradition that the club leaders have always honoured.

This first edition of the Seixal Ladies Open will open the way so many young people will be able to watch such players who, within a few years, will step onto the big international stages.

And it is also a message of confidence in a policy of expansion that the Portuguese Federation of Tennis has been promoting in connection with the regional associations and their clubs.
